What is the Deep Sea Directory?

The Deep Sea Directory is a commercial directory of UK based charter boats and supporting businesses. On-line since 1998, deepsea.co.uk has become the first choice for people searching the web for charter boats and supporting businesses.

Who can join?

Membership of deepsea.co.uk is open to charter boats and any business of interest to the users, skippers and owners of charter boats.

What do I get?

Basic membership includes the following facilities:

1. Directory Page

Information about your boat or business will be included in the directory. Your web address will be something like www.deepsea.co.uk/boats/yourboat. All you have to provide is the basic information and a couple of photographs. We do all the formatting, load it to the web site, and add references to your page from all of the relevant indexes. For businesses other than boats we will adapt the format to suit the business.

3. Schedule

Our schedule pages are very popular with anglers and divers looking for whole boat charters and individual spaces. Every deepsea.co.uk member gets a limited 3-entry schedule. Many skippers find the schedule so useful that they upgrade this to a full schedule with unlimited entries.

4. Counter

We count the number of times your pages have been visited.

5. Member's Area

You can login to the member's area of the site to update your schedule, view your counter, and to view many pages of guidance on how to make the most of deepsea.co.uk to market your business.

6. Links to Your Own Web Site

If you already have a web site we will link to it from your deepsea page.

7. What's New

To get the hits on your deepsea page started, new members are listed at the top of the What's New page.

How much does it cost?

Basic membership is competitively priced at £90+VAT for the first year and £60+VAT for subsequent years. Sell one day's charter through deepsea.co.uk and you come out ahead!

Can I have more pages on deepsea.co.uk?

In addition to your directory page you can have further pages for anything that fits in with the site. Examples so far include newsletters, photo galleries, upgraded schedules with unlimited entries and online shopping.

You can update the text and photographs on these pages whenever you want from the deepsea member's area.

How much do extra pages cost?

Most extra pages are priced at £60+VAT per year. Online shops cost from £150+VAT per year.

Can I move my existing site to deepsea.co.uk?

You will still need a directory entry page, but once you have that we can move your existing site to deepsea.co.uk. Such arrangements will be individually quoted.

What if my details change?

Membership includes an allowance for small changes to your main directory page - say you get a new mobile number, change email address, or have the boat repainted so there is a new photograph. A charge may be made for major changes or excessive numbers of small changes.

Additional pages such as schedules, picture galleries and noticeboards, you can login and update online. Deepsea provides all the tools so that you can keep these pages up to date through simple forms accessible to all members.

Will people be able to find me on the search engines?

The site is registered with all the main search engines. They periodically re-index the site and you will be added to a search engine next time it re-indexes the site.

I don't have a computer at home

You don't need a computer to join deepsea.co.uk, though access to a computer is needed if you want to take advantage of our advanced facilities such as the online schedules.

Deepsea application forms

In the mean time, have a look at the information presented for existing members and prepare your details and photographs so they are all ready to go. Photographs can be slides, negatives, prints or digital (.jpg).

Just fill in the details in an email or on the form and attach the photographs or send them with a cheque to “Deepsea” in the post. You will normally be on the directory within a few days of our receiving the completed application.

Remember that you need to Register online as a deepsea user to create your basic deepsea account. Go to User Registration and complete the user registration process.

This will create the user account that, once we receive your application form and cheque, will enable you to login and manage your deepsea pages.
