The Napoli

Many of you will know that I have been helping out with Salvage operations in connection with the Napoli, I just thought you might like to see a close up of the stricken ship when she was put aground off Branscombe beach in January.

Many of the containers have now been removed and Channel Chieftain has been involved in the ferrying of personnel and stores to and from the ship from Brixham.

the Chieftain doesn`t look so big along side this lot.

we also get out on some other jobs

As well takeing angling parties we sometimes do a bit of commercial work, I must admitt I do enjoy the variety of the work we get, you never know what will be next, over the last couple years we have been a liberty boat for the big RFA ships that ancohor in Weymouth bay taking the ships crew ashore and back good fun geting twelve worst for wear sailors up a rope ladder at two in the morrning, we have also done a bit of gard duty for war ships at ancohor in the bay making sure all vessels stay at least 300mt away, one job that is always good fun is the RYA sea survival instructors course, the guys on this course are the ones that teach sea survival in sailing schools, when they do there tickets we do it for real we cast them adrift for two hours in a liferaft out in the channel and then rescue them with the coast gard helicopter four at a time and deliver them back to the boat by winch the helicopter pilots like the boat to be doing about 15 knots
