The 1st boat that I owned was a 16ft clinker built boat which I used to moor on top of the cliff at Sandholes crane,we used to lower the boat into the water on the crane do a days fishing & then had to wind the crane up by hand. The next boat I owned was an I.P.16 fitted out at Clarks Boatworks in those days we used to fish in the Portland Race when we never saw a Bass under 6lbs.I then decided that I needed more speed so I bought an Alaska 500 with an 18hp Mercury outboard which I ran for 4 years.I then moved the boat to Castletown on Portland & put a cuddy & a 60hp Mariner on.During this time I used to fish Weymouth & Portland competitions which gave me a lot of knowledge for what was to happen later.I am a life member of E.F.S.A (European Federation of Sea Anglers)& The British Conger Club.I used to be a very competitive angler both on the boat & on the beach.I used to work in the Naval Base on Portland until they closed it.So in 1996 me & the bank bought Top Cat.Here we are in 2010 and I have video footage of the new Top Cat III at sea.Check out the video of

Well here,s something that you don,t see every day a Goldfinch perched on a fishing rod giving a whole new meaning to rod rest
Here we have a picture of Rod Adamson with yet another personal best Red Mullet or Goatfish (not a sheep fish baaaa)which weighed 1lb 10oz caught on the 2 days Weymouth species competition, not only did Rod catch the Red Mullet he also won the boat proving Red Mullet are easier to catch than Poor Cod.

Here we have retired drunken business man Gordon Davidson with a fine example of a specimen Garfish weighing 2lb 1 3/4oz.After listening to my advice Gordon caught this monster of the deep by accident while he was fishing for the mighty Turbot. We won,t mention that he also caught two Turbot that were nearly twice the size of this Garfish
Here we have husband and wife team Lee and Rachael Smith with a fine brace of summer Cod,as usual Rachael caught the biggest. When quizzed Lee said Rachael is always beating him and he,s getting used to it now.
